High altitude, autonomous trekking expedition through the remote and unexplored Dolpo region
This expedition takes place in the inhospitable Dolpo region of Nepal, very close to the border with China and with a predominantly Tibetan culture.
This is an exceptional place, remote, of great beauty and very little explored, therefore, the perfect place for a great expedition. With a widely dispersed and mostly nomadic population, it is possible in some places to walk for days without seeing any village or human settlement.
This expedition is almost always carried out above 3000 metres and includes a passage at 5200 metres. A mental and physical challenge, however, without great technical difficulties, carried out in a place with much to discover and where, as a team and accompanied by guides and porters, it is possible to experience a great mountaineering and exploration adventure.

Initial briefing and remaining day to rest.
During the morning we will arrange to buy the necessary food for the days on the mountain, as planned in the previous video conference sessions. In the afternoon we will enjoy sightseeing and rest on a short walk around Kathmandu.
The day begins with a flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj in western Nepal. Nepalgunj, a border town near the Nepal-India border, is the gateway to Simikot of Humla. After settling into the hotel we will still have time to enjoy the rest of the day and explore Nepalgunj.
The Dolpo region is bounded to the south and east by the Dhaulagiri mountain range, the Sisne and Kanjiroba mountains to the west and the Tibetan plateau to the north, and its extraordinary natural beauty was exquisitely captured in the Oscar nominated film of cinema “Caravan”.
Today, as a team, we will carry out all the initial planning of our expedition route. This plan will work as the guiding guide of the expedition that, however, will be every day revised and adapted in case the circumstances demand it. From this day on, we will always stay in camp until the end of the trekking.
The next 10 days will be spent on the planned route which includes a pass at 5200 metres.
Each day we will follow the established route and help set up the temporary camp for the night. The tasks during the campsites will be shared among all the team members, who together with guides and porters will organize themselves for their accomplishment.
After the last night in the mountain, we will make the last journey of this expedition in autonomy that will take us to Jhupal, where we will stay in a hotel and will have time for a debriefing about what we have learned and lived.
Today we will return to Kathmandu by plane. The rest of the day will be used to explore Kathmandu, its temples, its history, its markets and to socialise with its people.
In the evening we will have our farewell dinner which officially seals the end of this course.
